Q. What is the MAS Annual Meeting?A. It is a venue for undergraduates, graduates and professional scientists to meet and exchange scientific ideas and research through presentations. Q. What is the Winchell Undergraduate Research Symposium? A. A venue for undergraduates present scientific ideas and research through the presentation of a paper, poster or both. Q. How do I participate? A. You can attend the Annual Meeting/Winchell Symposium as an observer, as an undergraduate presenter, or you may volunteer as a judge. In order to attend in any capacity, you must register through our online system. Q. What is the difference between a presenter and an attendee? A. Presenters are reading and discussing their research through a paper and/or a poster at one of the symposia. Attendees are coming to the Annual Meeting/Winchell Undergraduate Research Symposium but are not presenting a paper or a poster. Q. How do I register? Register now button with deadlines below Q. How do I become a member of the Minnesota Academy of Science? A. As a professional or graduate student, membership is included with your registration fee to this year’s event. If you are an undergraduate student wishing to become a member please click here Q. If I am a presenter, should I present just a paper, a poster, or prepare a paper and a poster? A. Winchell Undergraduate Research Symposium presenters may present a paper, or a poster, or both. Q. What do the A.C.S.(American Chemical Society) and Tri-Beta have to do with the Annual Meeting/Winchell Undergraduate Research Symposium? A. They are academic associations that are meeting in conjunction with the Annual Meeting/Winchell Undergraduate Research Symposium. Q. Can I register at the door? A. All presenters must be fully registered by 3/30/2012, no exceptions. The registration deadline for attendees who are not presenting is 4/13/2012. Space and meals are VERY limited, so we strongly recommend you register by the deadline. If it is past 4/13/2012, please contact Megan Buchanan at 612-423-0707. |
