77th Annual Meeting &
23rd Annual Winchell Undergraduate Symposium
April 23-24, 2010
Hosted by University of St. Thomas, St. Paul

Winchell Judge Criteria and Information
The Winchell Undergraduate Research Symposium gives undergraduate students the opportunity to present their research to a broad audience. Student oral presentations at the Saturday morning sessions are judged and awards are given for the best presentation in each session. This experience gives students the opportunity to receive feedback on their research and their presentation ability from professionals in their fields.

As a judge, you can help encourage excellence in undergraduate research. Judges will read student abstracts, observe student presentations, and submit brief written evaluations. Students will be judged on the quality of the abstract, the quality of the research presented, and the presentation ability. Awards will be made for the best of session.

Judges should have:

  • An advanced degree (or be a current advanced graduate student) and research experience.
  • An interest in undergraduate research.
  • An interest in encouraging future scientists.

If you are interested in becoming a judge, please contact Megan Buchanan
